2008 NWS Golf Association/Central Region Golf Results
Deer Valley Lodge and Golf Course - Barneveld, WI Thirty
eight golfers and guests from 12 states participated in the 23rd
annual NWSGA/Central Region golf outing held June 16 - 20 at Deer
Valley Golf Course - Barneveld, WI.
The golfers enjoyed beautiful rain-free weather the entire week
with high temperatures mainly in the 70s and lows in the 50s.
Lodging
and hospitality arrangements were at the nearby Deer Valley Lodge and
Water Park. Of the 38
golfers and guests, 9 of them were participating for the first time. About
12 golfers enjoyed a golf side trip to nearby House on the Rock Golf
Course Spring Green, WI on Thursday afternoon and about 10 golfers
enjoyed a relaxing 1 hour tour of nearby Cave of the Mounds on
Wednesday evening. Part
of the entry fees for the Tuesday and Wednesday Scrambles were
targeted as a donation for the American Red Cross for disaster relief.
At the Friday afternoon awards luncheon, Brian Hahn announced
that the Red Cross Badger Chapter - Madison, WI would receive a check
for $580.00. No one from
the Red Cross was able to attend the luncheon to receive a check as
they were all busy responding to disastrous flooding that had occurred
1 to 2 weeks earlier. All
