7th Annual NWS Lower Great Lakes Golf Outing
Walnut Creek Golf Complex, Club Run Golf Course
near Upland, IN
Friday  Sept. 18th, 2009

Under sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s, 42 golfers participated in the 7th Annual National Weather Service Lower Great Lakes Golf Scramble Supporting Emergency Preparedness. The golf was played at Club Run Golf Course at the Walnut Creek Golf Complex. Plans are to hold another Lower Great Lakes Golf Outing at the same place and time of year in 2010.

This event brings together current and retired NWS employees along with members of the Emergency Management  community, weather observers, and the general public. The goal is to have fun playing golf while raising community awareness about preparedness and raising money for the Red Cross. As a result of this one day scramble, $400 was raised and donated to the Indiana Red Cross to help in emergencies. We hope more people will attend next year and help with this worthy cause.

A big thanks to Walnut Creek for all their help, support and donations!!
